Coastal Highlights

Our little stretch of the north east coast has so many hidden gems to explore

Five minutes walk from your bothy you can observe the Newburgh seal colony living on the mouth of the Ythan river, these inquisitive animals never fail to entertain! Click on the link to see Newburgh Seals on TripAdvisor

From the colony you can continue South along the vast sandy beach and dune system which stretch all the way to Aberdeen.

To the north of the estuary lies Forvie Natural Nature Reserve with beautiful walking and cycling opportunities leading to dramatic bays and the picturesque village of Collieston.

Castles and Whisky trails

If its castles you're after then the North East has its own fantastiacally diverse trail to follow.  From the dracula inspiring Slains Castle ruins  just up the coast to the superbly well maintained Fyvie Castle or the awe inspiring cliff top fortress of Dunnottar Castle there is something to inspire all travellers....

and what goes hand in hand with the castle trail? The whisky trail of course!

The North East has some absolute gems including our local Glen Garioch distillery which is the most easterly Scotch Whisky distillery in the world. Or if its a royal seal of approval you're after then why not take a trip to the Royal Lochnagar for a tour or taste!

From Mountain to Sea...

The very best of Scotland - Aberdeenshire's motto says it all!

Above is just a small taster of the delights that North East Scotland has to offer.  We are happy to recommend walking/cycling trails, activities for adventurous or relaxing days out and local dining for all occasions.

Our little slice of Scotland really does have something for everyone!
